My reason for this blog is to inform people of this terrible illness which affects so many people but so little is known about it . I myself have only been diagnosed for 12 months now but I have been a sufferer for at the very least 5 years. I am trying to add llots of links and positive information so you can be informed about this properly.

That's the typical repeated story of ME-patients. Sick to the bone but diagnosed much much too late because most doctors do not know what ME really is all about. How much it affects our immunesystem, our brains (MRI scans), our hormones, our central nervous system ... It is much more serious than they think ME (or CFS) is. They only know "fatigue" so when someone walks in their office sick to the bone, they don't even consider ME.
They need to be educated, to be correctly informed and to be willing to learn things they don't know anything about (the immunesytem changes are so specific most doctors don't even understand what the changes mean).
Hope you're blog will continue to point out how serious ME is and how little serious it's been taken for over 25 years now.

ReplyDeleteI was Diagnosed in 2007 that is 12yrs after onset & that was by a young locum GP. It was all there for GP's to see but took them 12yrs!!!!
